The Educational Opportunity Center provides adults with information about educational and career opportunities, as well as information on admissions requirements to educational programs, including vocational programs, and available financial aid.

Keep the past alive with the spoken word

06.11.05 | PJC history instructor Allen Williams speaks to the Paris Founders Lions Club Thursday about his World War II oral history project. Williams and his student volunteers record the experiences of local veterans to preserve their unique perspective of the past. He is also involved in 2005 PJC Homecoming plans, which center around alumni who served their country.

The Dandy Lions strike again

04.24.05 | The Paris Founders Lions Club's semi-unofficial, often self-maligned and generally not very good bowling team, The Dandy Lions, took part in a bowling fundraiser for Big Brothers - Big Sisters Saturday. Above, Lion Linda Wolf prepares to pick up a spare. The lanes were lighted disc-style for the event with black-lights, wild colors and strobes. Individual scores are not worth mentioning, but the Lions were awarded a plaque in the service club category for raising the most money.

The busy, rewarding life of a Scout

04.22.05 | Mike Taylor, Scoutmaster of Boy Scouts Troop 2 in Paris, updated Lions Club members on his troop's activities. Troop 2 pitched in last summer to help Lions work their annual hamburger stand at the Red River Valley Fair, and will be onhand again this summer.

The Paris Founders Lions Club meets each Thursday at noon in the ballroom of Paris Junior College. Guests and members of other Lions Clubs in the area are always welcome.
